NEW!
Emergency Ride Home Program

It's great to carpool, vanpool or ride the LOTMA Commuter Express
to work, but what if you have an emergency--you might be stranded!
Don't worry. We'll give you a ride home--if you're a participant in the
LOTMA Emergency Ride Home (ERH) Program. It's a special incentive
to encourage you to travel to work without your car--without the fear
of being stranded.

It Works Like This: You Call, They Come!
If you have an emergency and need a ride home, just call the taxi or
car rental company of your choice. Pay for your ride home and submit
the ERH Refund Application and receipt to LOTMA for reimbursement.
That's it. You're home free!

Who's Eligible?

You are if...

  1. You live or work in Leeward, Central or North Shore Oahu.
    (Generally defined as west and north of Waipahu...including
    Waipahu) and:
  2. You carpool, vanpool or ride the LOTMA Commuter Express
    to work at least once a week; and
  3. You have registered for the program and received your
    confirmation from us; and
  4. You commuted to work by carpool, vanpool or LOTMA Commuter
    Express on the day the ERH is needed.

What's Covered?

  1. Unplanned personal emergencies, such as:
  2. Personal or family illness:
  3. A family crisis;
  4. Your carpool or vanpool is unavailable for its usual schedule.

The Fine Print

The ERH program can be used up to four times per calendar year.
Reimbursements cannot exceed $55 per use (any rental car charges
incurred after 24 hours will not be reimbursed). Reimbursement requests
without a receipt cannot be honored. Make sure you get a receipt from
your transportation provider!
Any inappropriate use of this program
will be at the participant's expense and jeopardize future eligibility for
LOTMA programs.

The following situations are not covered by the ERH program:

  1. Overtime (unexpected or planned);
  2. Personal errands;
  3. Pre-planned medical or dental appointments;
  4. Business-related travel;
  5. Injury on the job;
  6. Regional disasters, such as hurricanes.
